Privacy Policy

How CareClinic handles personal data, under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

Two kinds of data

  • About the businesses that use CareClinic (owners and staff): name, email, phone, business details, licences shown for verification, and payments to us. For this we are the data fiduciary.
  • About patients and customers of those businesses: what each business records (contact details, visits, treatment, prescriptions, bills). For this the business is the data fiduciary and we only process it on its instructions; see the Data Processing terms. Patients should contact their clinic first.

Why we use business data

  • To run the account: sign-in, the features you use, support.
  • To verify that a business is genuine before it goes live.
  • To bill you and keep tax records.
  • To tell you about your account (renewals, security, changes). Product news only if you agree, and you can stop it any time.

Where it is kept and who sees it

Data is stored with Google Cloud (Firebase) in India where available, encrypted in transit and at rest. Our staff see business data only to provide support or when the law requires. We use these processors: Google Cloud (hosting), Razorpay (payments), Meta WhatsApp Business (messages), our SMS gateway, and our email provider. We don't sell data.

How long

While the account is open, and 90 days after it closes (so the business can export), then deleted, except records the law requires us to keep, such as invoices for 8 years.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or erase your personal data, withdraw consent, and nominate someone to act for you. Write to the grievance officer below. Patients should write to their clinic, which can do this in CareClinic; we help the clinic when asked.

Security incidents

If personal data is breached we inform the affected businesses and the Data Protection Board as the law requires, and help businesses inform their patients.

Cookies

We use only the cookies and browser storage needed to keep you signed in and remember settings. No advertising trackers.
